Edward Jones II is bringing his passion for sports, community impact, and athlete development back to Kansas City. With 15 years of experience in the sports industry, he has dedicated his career to creating opportunities for athletes—both on and off the field.
A Return to KC
Edward first came to the Kansas City area while working for the Kansas Jayhawks, living in the Shawnee/Lenexa area with his family. After another chapter in his sports career took him away, he and his family made the intentional decision to return, settling in South KC. What brought them Back2KC? The strong sense of community and KC’s unique balance of city life without big-city chaos.
What Edward’s Focused On
As a leader at Great Jobs KC, Edward helps provide educational opportunities to Kansas City residents through college scholarships (up to $50,000) and tuition-free career training. His passion project, Beyond The Field Program, LLC, focuses on equipping others to positively impact athletes’ lives, ensuring they thrive beyond their playing days.
Edward is also diving into KC’s food creator community, collaborating with local content creators and exploring the city’s vibrant food scene. And in May, he’ll be hosting The Player Development Summit (May 29-31), an event designed to bring together professionals in the sports industry while showcasing all that Kansas City has to offer.
Advice for Newcomers
“It can take a while to find your people, but once you do, it’s like an avalanche,” Edward says. He also appreciates the unexpected Texas connections in KC—from the people to the events and even the food!
