Building Roots and Launching AI Navigator

Greg Brungardt has always been at the intersection of marketing, strategy, and innovation. With more than 15 years of experience—starting in college athletics before transitioning into the automotive industry—he built his career by combining relationship-building with operational know-how. Sounds like the perfect fit for KC seeing how much we prefer relationships over transactions.

Originally from Nebraska, Greg and his wife recently relocated their family from Houston to Kansas City. The move was motivated by a desire to be closer to family while also putting down roots in a vibrant, growing city.

“It felt like the perfect opportunity to blend my marketing industry experience with new entrepreneurial ventures,” Greg shared.

Finding Community in Kansas City

Greg was struck immediately by the spirit of connection in Kansas City.

“The sense of connection here is incredible—Kansas City truly feels like a place where people want to help each other succeed,” he said. “Coming from larger markets, it’s refreshing to see how approachable leaders, entrepreneurs, and organizations are.”

He describes KC as having a “big enough but small enough” vibe, where relationships can grow quickly and innovation flourishes. That balance has made his transition both seamless and inspiring.

Launching AI Navigator

With his move came a new venture: AI Navigator, an agency designed to help small- and mid-sized businesses harness AI tools.

“Many business owners and leaders know AI is important but don’t know where to start—that’s where I come in, translating complex technology into practical solutions,” Greg explained.

AI Navigator’s mission is to help local businesses save time, reduce costs, and accelerate growth by adopting AI responsibly and strategically. For Greg, the goal is to empower Kansas City’s small business community to stay competitive in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

A Career Built on Connection

Greg brings a unique blend of skills to Kansas City. His career includes corporate sponsorship leadership and event marketing strategy across sports, entertainment, and lifestyle events.

“I’ve managed partnerships across sports, entertainment, and lifestyle events—turning fan passion into brand passion—and I now apply that same creativity and discipline to helping businesses leverage AI,” he said.

With experience spanning multiple industries and regions, Greg sees himself as a bridge between traditional marketing approaches and the future of tech-driven business growth.

Getting Involved Locally

Since moving to KC, Greg has intentionally leaned into the community. He’s been active in networking events, coffee chats, and organizations like New2KC, which have given him a strong sense of belonging.

In this last portion of 2025, he looks forward to becoming more involved in local chambers, business events, and sports-related initiatives—spaces where he can blend his professional expertise with new community connections. Greg’s goals are both professional and personal:

  • Professionally: establish AI Navigator as a trusted resource for Kansas City’s small business community.

  • Personally: build long-term relationships that help his family thrive in KC for years to come.

It’s very clear that Greg is passionate about helping business owners feel confident about adopting AI tools instead of overwhelmed by them.

Advice for Newcomers

Greg encourages others moving to KC to take the first step in engaging with the community.

“Lean into the community—people here genuinely want to connect and help you succeed, but you have to take the first step,” he said. “Kansas City is full of opportunities if you’re willing to show up, be intentional, and invest in relationships.”

What has surprised Greg most since relocating? The city’s growth and momentum.

“I’ve been struck by how quickly Kansas City is growing in both tech and entrepreneurship while still holding onto its approachable, neighborly culture,” he said. “The pride people have in this community—whether it’s sports, food, or business—is contagious and inspiring.”

Greg is eager to connect with fellow entrepreneurs, business owners, and community leaders.

Greg shared that he’s always open to a coffee chat to swap ideas, explore collaborations, or simply get to know others making an impact.
